ANOTHER U.S.S. COY. COLLIER DELAYED AT AUCKLAND
P.A. AUCKLAND. May 30. The collier Kartigi has been held at Auckland since Friday, because members of her engine-room staff do not approve of the quality of the carpet material supplied for hand rags. The steamer was ready to sail for Westport when the men’s decision was announced. , ‘ The coljier’s sailing is now set down for tomorrow. The Kartigi is the third collier in the Auckland-West Coast service to be delayed here this month. The Kiwitea was withdrawn for survey because of crew shortages, and the Karepo was paid off for survey after 11 members of her engine-room department. left over the engagement of a donkeyman.
