Boy Killed by Fall from Pony
P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 30. When investigations were made following the discovery of a riderless pony in Hikumutu Valley, near Taumarunui, on Saturday, the body of John Charles Pittams, the six-year-old son of Mr and Mrs J. C. Pittams, was found lying on the in a pool of blood. He had been talking to settlers in the district only a few minutes before, and had ridden out of sight of them. How he came by the fatal head injuries that he had received is not known.
