Wedding
WICKEN—HiNDfviARSH A wedding of wide interest took place at St Stephen’s Church on Easter Saturday when Margaret Estelle, second daughter of Dr and Mrs J. L. Wicken of Reefton, was married to Ralph James, only son of Mr and Mrs R. riindmarsh of Buller Road. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr Madell.
The oride who was given away by her father were a gown of white lace and net made with a high fitting bodice, tiny rolled collar and long sleeves. The back fell to a long train and the veil which was an heirloom, and had been worn by her mother, was of silk net and helc in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of white begonias, dahlias and lillies.
Mrs R. G. Lawn, sister bride, was Matron of Honour and was in a gown of apricot net over satin. She carried a bouquet of begonias, dahlias and sweet peas. The young sister of the bride, Jessie, was the flower girl and was dressed in a frock similar to that worn by the Matron of Honour. The best man was Mr lan Duff.
Amongst the guests were the grandparents of the bride, Mr and Mrs W. J. Spittai of Gore. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents where the guests were received by the mothers of the bride and bridegroom. For travelling the bride wore a fawn and tan suit with accessories to match.
