From what he had seen in Wellington, quite a number of motorists did not appear to realise their obligations, said the chairman of the Wellington Fire Board. Mr S.S. Dean, when referring to the duty of motorists to give way to fire engines. “I would like to point out that when drivers of cars or trucks hear the approach of a ffn engine the obligation is on them to clear the way as far as they are able by pulling to one side and stopping,” said Mr n ean.
