Higher Delivery Price Asked for Bread

CHRISTCHURCH, April 13

Authority to increase the charge for the private retail delivery of bread is being sought from the Pr:cu tribunal bv the New Zealand Federation of Master Bakers and Pastrycooks. Its application will be heard by the Price Tribunal at a public sitting in Wellington on April 30. The bakers’ case will be nresented by Mr H. M. Rogerson, of Auckland, Mr. C. H. Thomas, who is the manager of an Auckland bakery firm, and Mr G. R. Burrows, of Christchurch, who is . secretary of tlm federation. The master bakers are asking for the increase to meet, increased costs the present charges for delivery being Id for a 21b loaf and 2d for a 41b loaf. . An application for authority to increase the price of biscuits and confectionary bv the Biscuits and Confectionary Manufacturers Association will be heard by the Price Tribunal at a public sitting in Wellington on April 29.
