ODDFELLOWS’ OFFICERS INSTALLED

The fortnightly meeting of Brighter Greymouth Lodge 1.0.0.F.N.Z. was held in Perotti Hall on Monday evening. Bro. L. Boot presided over a good attendance. The secretary reported that three members were in hospital. Sick pay and accounts for £l4 0s 7d were passed for payment. Correspondence was received from Grey River Hospital Board forwarding cheque for £5 6s 9d being balance in Outpatients Scheme Fund which was now terminated. A number of letters were received from lodges throughout New Zealand regretting that they knew of no sets oi' indoor bowls being available for sale. Several forwarded donations towards the special fund. The main business of the evening was the installation of the officers. The ceremony was conducted by D.D.G.M. Bro. R. N. Kelly assisted by D.D.G. Warden R. S. IVleech P.G., D.D.G. Marshall, H. Geary P.G., D.D. G. Secretary and Treasurer, J. Torrence P.G., D.D.G. Chaplain. G. Fiveash, F.G., D.D.G. Guardian, G. Strode. The following officers were installed:—lmmediate P.O. L. Boot; N.G. 'l'. Fiveash; V.G. C. Robertson; Secretary, A. E. Weaver; Rec. Secretary If. J. Hill; Treasurer G. D. Smart; Warden G. Sullivan; Conductor, .1. Torrence; Chaplain, S. Thompson: R.S.N.G. H. Geary; L.S.N.G. Ri S. Meech; R.S.V.G. G. Strode; L.S. V.G. J. Sullivan; R.S.S. M. Geary; I.G. R. N. Kelly. Replying to a vote of thanks to himself and staff D.D.G.M. Bro. R. N. Kelly congratulated the newly installed officers and also the lodge on being able to fill all chairs for the first time since pre-war- days. A vote of thanks to the outgoing officers was recorded. The question of forming a table tennis club between the two lodges to be known as the “Triple Link Club” was left in the hand of V.G. Bro. C. Robertson.
