N.Z. TEAM FOR U.S.A

WELLINGTON, April 13. The New Zealand Softball Association is contemplating sendin- a team to the United States to compete in the world series of 1949-50. Announcing this, Mi' All' Jenkins, the president of the association and American commissioner for the game in New Zealand, said he had informed the United States authorities that he considered' the standard of New Zealand softball high enough to warrant confidence in their game against tne Americans.

Considerable funds would be needed. said Mr Jenkins, but he expected the money would be raised without undue difficulty.

He added that it was planned to send a women’s team ta Australia in the 1948-49 season.
