Work Resumed on Waikato Power Scheme AUCKLAND, April 12. The men returned to work to-daj on the development of the three major Waikato hydro-electric scheme; —Maraetai, Whakamaru and Waipara—which have been idle during the strike of four weeks and a half, but full-scale operations will not be possible immediately because of the shortage of labour. The 300 men who left Mangakinc camp during the strike have not yet returned, but they are expected tc report by the week-end. The . men are drifting back by every available means of transport. Each train arriving at Putaruru—the nearest station —and every road service car are carrying, workmen. Others are hitchhiking on motor lorries, which private contractors to the Public Works Department are bringing back from temporary work in the Rotorua district.
