WELLINGTON, April 12.

The manager' in New Zealand for the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., Ltd. (Mr J. P. Wildman) when the decision of the Price Tribunal to authorise an increase of £4 2s 6d a ton was referred to him, said the company was -disappointed. It applied to the Tribunal to increase the Drice by £8 2s Id a ton. The figure quoted in the published report, afis the proved increase in costs to the company Was substantially below the figure claimed by the company, and until the judgment was received they were at a loss to understand why this should be the case. Further, it was not clear why they should be. compelled to absorb increased costs amounting to 13s' 4d a ton.
