The Mines’ Pension Fund trustees, at a meeting to-day failed to reacn an immediate settlement of the softcoal strike.

The trustees, however, are meeting again tomorrow, 90 minutes betore Mr John L. Lewis, president of the United Mineworkers’ is due to appear in the Federal Court to, answer contempt charges for ignoring the court order to call off thp stoppage which rendered idle 600,000 throughout the nation.
