INVERCARGILL, April 12.
The New Zealand record for the 220 yards intermediate boys backstroke was broken in a special attempt at the tepid baths tonight by the holder,' Warren Pasley, who bettered the previous record of 2min 50 2-ssec, by one second. Application will be made for recognition of the new time.
