BRAUND CANCER CURE DESCRIBED AS A “FRAUD”

(Rec. 8.20). SYDNEY, Anril 8. The committee set up to investigate the cancer claims of Mr J. Braund lias reported to the Premier, Mr J. McGirr, that Mr Braund has no specific cure for cancer, and that his treatment is of no benefit to cancer sufferers. In a statement to the committee, the Director-General of Health, Dr E. S. Morris, who acted as chairman, said that Braund was a fraud and a charlatan, and that his injection of alum was a delusion and a snare. The committee declared that the exploitation of Braund’s alleged cure is an outstanding public mischief, with international ramifications. It has lulled sufferers into a false sense of security, thereby preventing them from obtaining proper treatment at a curable stage of the disease.
