In the Strongman State Mine notably, there has been a good increase, and at Dobson, Liverpool, Wallsend and Blackball the figures for the first week’s operation of the new hours are well up to date. Blackball had a particularly high production in the last fortnight of last month, and comparison is not possible in that case. More than 1000 tons of coal are on the Greymouth wharf awaiting tne arrival of the next collier, the Kakapo, due to-clav, to load over 2500 to.-:s for Auckland’.
