STORM AT HEADS FORCES “ARAHURA” BACK TO WELLINGTON
P.A. WELLINGTON, April 7. Terrific seas driven into Wellington Heads by a southerly Rale, caused the Nelson passenger steamer “Arahura” to return to Wellington tonight. The “Arahura” sailed at the usual time, and attempted to pass through the harbour entrance, but she was forced to put bacx by mountainous waves. She is expected to sail for Nelson at 6.30 a.m. to-mor-rew, providing the weather moderates. The “Hinemoa” bound for Lyttelton smashed her way out into the Straits, and she then headed south ' into the storm.
