(Our Own Correspondent) REEFTON. April 5 The death took place on Sunday morning at the Taumarunui hosptial after a lengthy illness, of Mr George Leogreen, formerly of Reefton. He leaves a wife and four children also one sister, Mrs CeiA’l Curtis of Reefton. who has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends, The funeral will leave the Church of the Sacred Heart, Reefton, on Thursday, for the Surburban Cemetery. , , The Reefton ladies’ croquet,, club visited the Runanga club on Friday and had a most enjoyable time although Runanga secured a win, The Drama Club will begin work tonight after a break of four months. Mrs Read of Christchurch, who has been visiting her daughter has returned home. •_ Mr T. Blackadder is a patient m the Grey River Hospital.
Barrytown Sale Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report that the Barrytown sale was held last Saturday and attracted a good entry of cattle. Included in the yarding was a proportion of good quality fat cattle, runners and some attractive pens of store steers and heifers. There was a good attendance of buyers, competition being steadv throughout the sale, and there was a total clearance at prices well up to recent rates. The principal sales were as follows: — For Ryall and Son, 32 steers at £8 12s 6d to £l7 12s 6d; 24 heifers at £5 7s 6d to £8 12s 6d; 12 cows at £6 7s 6d to £ll 7s 6d; 4 runners at £6 2s 6d to £8 12s 6d. For O. J. Meagher, 4 cows at £6 2s 6d to £8 17s 6d; 4 bulls at £5 12s 6d to £7 2s 6d. For D. Dennehy, 1 steer at £l2 2s 6d; 1 cow at £l3 7s 6d; 1 cow and runner at £l4 2s 6d; 1 heifer at £7 7s 6d. F'or W. J. Dennehy, 1 heifer at £l2 2s 6d. For P. Wafer, 1 runner at £7 7s 6d. For A. T. Richards, 1 cow at £7 7s 6d; 1 heifer at £5 17s fid; 1 bull at £6. For W. H. Blunt, 4 cows at £8 2s fid to £9 17s 6d; 2 heifers at £5 7s fid. For H. S. Langridge, 9 cows at £5 7s fid to £9 2s 6d; 4 heifers at £5 10s to £8 7s 6d; 3 heifer calves at £4 17s fid: 1 bull calf at £6 2s 6d. For C. J. McLean, 5 cows at £7 2s 6d to £7 12s 6d; 5 heifers at £5 2s fid to £6 7s 6d; 1 calf at £3 17s 6d. For R. J.
