Servicing Of Dakota Planes

WELLINGTON, April 1

The National Airways Corporation will take over the complete overhaul and maintenance work of the Dakota aircraft at the Harewood aerodrome to-morrow. Up to the present the work has been done by Airwork (N-.Z.), Ltd., with which an agreement has been made by the corporation. The manager of the corporation (Mr F. Maurice Clarke) said to-night that the change was in line with the corporation’s general policy of doing its own repairs and maintenance. Members of the staff of Airworks, Ltd., who had previously been engaged in Dakota maintenance work would be employed by the corporation. He understood that the company would still operate on the servicing of lighter aircraft. There was no suggestion that the corporation should take over complete control of the airport.
