BUTCHERS BRING PRICES DOWN AT ADDINGTON

CHRISTCHURCH, April 1 At Addjngton market lamb prices fell to the lowest xor two years. Butchers kept to stout iambs. Values were a shade below export schedule. The demand for beet was more restricted than at any time since the butchers started buying through a committee, vealers were easier. Choppers and baconers were yarded in heavy numbers in the tat pig section ana values tor these two masses were easier.

Fat cattle. —Best beef made to 57s 6d per 1001 b; good beet, 42s 6d to 50s; medium beet to 40s; best cow beef, to 40s; secondary cow beef, to 36s 6d. Store lambs were down by Is to 2s a head on medium and inferior lambs, but. the best were unchanged. Top price was 325. Medium iambs sold irom 20s to 255, with small and backyard from 15x to 19s. Good fotir-year Romney and crossbred ewes were worth from 26s to 295, and others from 18s 3d to 245. Good halfbred and Corriedale lour-year ewes were worth 25s 6d to 29s 3d, and others 17s 9d to 24s 9d. The best sound-mouthed and five-year ewes made from 20s to 26? 3d, with medium from 17s to 19s 6d, and culls down to 6s.
