The yacht weighing seven tons, was dragged with tractors and steel ropes acdoss 100 yards of shelving sea-bottom and now lies four chains above the high-water mark. The onIv damage the hull appears to have sustained is a hole about six feet long and involving three or lour planks. Waiting for low tide the salvage party, which comprised Messi. G. H. Rutland, Rex McNabb and W. I-I McLauchlan, rowed out to the wreck and found the boat’s side just awash, as it lay canted over on the bottom in about seven feet of water. They managed to secure ropes and later towed the Mahoe above highwater mark.
