India’s Action Against Communists
NEW DELHI, March 30
The police arrested 17 Communist and trade union leaders in raids on the Communist headquarters in New Delhi and offices of tne organisations affiliated with the Comm.iyjist-dom-inated All India Trade Union Congress. It is reported that the police sealed the Communist headquarters. The Prime Minister of India (Mr. Nehru) told the Indian Parliament that the Government had decided not to reinstate into the Indian Army former members of Subhas Chandra Bose’s “Indian National Army,”
which fought against the Allies in Malaya- and Burma. Plot Against Siam ■ Newspapers in Bangkok report the discovery of a large-scale Chinese plot to seize power in Siam. The reports claimed thta two well-trained Chinese regiments, equipped with modern arms and secret radio transmitting stations were ready for action. The plotters, it was alleged, were closely connected with former Siamese Cabinet Ministers. Police sources forecast, “lively repercusisons.”
