SOVIET CHARGES GERMANS WITH ESPIONAGE FOR U.S.A.

LATEST PHASE IN BERLIN (Rec. 11.40). MOSCOW, March 30. The Soviet authorities in Berlin alleged that they have discovered the existence of an illegal Fascist organisation which the American authorities an using for espionage in the Soviet zone. Moscow “Pravda” said that Russians have arrested the former German army officer, Colonel Gerhard Pinkert, who had confessed that he was a regimental commander in an organisation known as “the Branderberg Division.” Colonel Pinkert is alleged to have said Jhat the tormer Chief-of-Staff of the German Land Forces, Colonel-General Haider was the commander-in-chief othis organisation .which the American Intelligence Service subsidised and which gave the Americansynformatioin on military, political, and economic matters.
