13 to 1 Majority in Roumanian Polls For Communist Bloc

BUCHAREST, March 29. The Government bloc polled 4,714,442 of the 5,220,706 votes counted so far in 40 of the 59 electorates. An earlier message said that the elections passed off quietly. Election spirit was at a low ebb—with no powerful opposition. • The Government was sure of an overwhelming majority—but nationwide popular celebrations followed the closing of the polls. (Rec. 7.50). BUCHAREST. March 30. The Communist-dominated Government bloc polled 7,116,267 out of a total of 7,732,651 votes cast in the Rumanian elections yesterday, according to the Rumanian Ministry of the Interior, thus giving the bloc 405 out of the 414 seats in the National Assembly.
