Mr and Mrs F. J. Oakley have left on an extended holiday to Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs Les M. Reid, of Denniston, have returned home after visiting Mi’ and Mrs Jas. Anderson, Seven- Mile Road, for the Easter weekend.

Mr and Mrs Joe Curragh and family are the guests of Mr and Mrs Neil Forsyth, Dunollie. Mr and Mrs Ron Smith of Nelson, have returned home after visiting their parents. Mr Wm. Richmond, of Wellington, left yesterday by the express, having been on leave for the Rich-mond-McTigue wedding. Miss Dorothy Robins, of Christchurch, was a visitor to the township during the holiday recess. In a friendly game played at Wingham Park on Sunday last, between teams representing Runanga. and Marist, neither of which were at full strength, the 1 local thirteen shewed slight superiority in running out winners by 15 to 3. For Runanga tries were scored by J. Forrest (2), J. Curragh, F. Thompson and J. Newton. All the Runanga backs show pace and initiative, while their forwards with Newton, McTaggari and Higson outstanding, showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with. For Marist, P. Coll scored a good try after a clever run by Jim Curnow’ and V. Meates. Mr P. Sweetman controlled the game, which was witnessed by a surprisingly good attendance. . , After the recent meeting oi the Co-operative Women’s Guild a pleasant evening took place. A mock auction of goods donated by members attracted brisk bidding. After supper Mrs Dinsdale was presented with a basket of gifts and a bouquet. She acknowledged the gifts. Competition winners were Mrs Welch and Miss Schultze the donors being Mesdames Wogan and Williams. Hostesses were Mesdames Eeli and Anderson.
