(Rec. 9.5) LONDON, March 26 During the House of Commons debate on the Government’s Intention to remove Communists and Fascists from responsible Government posts Mr Gallacher (tne Sottish Communist member) said that the United States wanted Britain to be a forward base for an attack by American capitalists on Europe and Russia. He asserted: “If war came the Royal Family would go to Ottawa, and the people would be left to perish. Britain, by the time that war finished, would be a mass of radio-active mud. Earlier, during his speech, Mr Gallacher was accused of a breach of good taste. He replied: "I am not concerned with good taste. 1 was told to-day of a girl .who had been dismissed from a job because she is a Communist Mr Gallacher denied that the Communist Pary of Britain was disloyal, or that it took ordc\s from another country.
