Tram Moved with Passenger Alighting
WELLINGTON, March 23. A charge of moving his tram while a passenger was alighting was brought against a tramway motorman in the Magistrate’s Court in Wellington, today. It was dismissed by Mr Goulding S.M. The defendant was Ivan Frederick Dockery, who was represented by Mr G. H. Arndt. “To convict on this charge, I have to be satisfied that the motorman knew that the passenger was attemptin gto leave the tramcar,” said the Magistrate. “I think that the real fault in this cast probably lay with the conductor.”
