LEAGUE FOOTBALL Australian Tour of French Team Opposed
SYDNEY, Jan. 31. The New Zealand League tour of Australia might prove a better investment than the proposed visit by the French League team, says E. E. Christensen in the Sunday Sun. Because of Queensland’s opposition to the guarantee, the French tour of Australia may be cancelled. Queensland has announced that it is not in a position to provide cash guaranteees for the Frenchmen and that it is not interested in a tour Deginning in June. The French suggestion that Australia should pay the fares, travelling allowances and accommodation of the team ''hile in Australia seems a mg hurdle lor Commonwealth leagues to face. Christensen suggest that a tour by the New Zealand , team now on ns wav home from its record-breaking tour of England and France might be a better investment.
