NEW CASES OF PARALYSIS IN AUCKLAND AREAS

AUCKLAND, February 3.

One new positive case and one new suspected case of infantile paralysis were reported in the central Auckland health district to-day. The new positive case, a boy aged 14, from the district south of Auckland, was already in Auckland Hospital. He was thought to have been suffering from another disease, but his illness has now been positively uiagnosed as poliomyelitis.

The new suspect case is an adult from North Shore. One positive case lias ben discharged. There were 54 positive and five suspect cases in hospital tonight. ANOTHER WAIKATO CASE

A four-year-old boy from Matamata, who has been on the suspect list at Waikato Hospital, has been diagnosed as a positive case. No further new cases have so far been reported in South Auckland health district.
