Henshaw has returned to Timaru after visiting friends in ReefMr H. Lester of. the North Island has arrived on a visit to his parents, Mrs F. Lynch has left for Ashburton on a short visit. Bombardier H. McMahon, has cabled to his people that he is fit and well .after the Tunisian campaign At the Fire Brigade forty-lives tournament, Miss K. Mulligan won the ladies’ prize and Mr J. Grnten the gent’s. Next week, a 500 evening will be held. On Friday evening, over 20J o the Home Guard attended a special film shown for their benefit m tne Criterion Theatre. The gathering was a representative one, the men ' travelling from Tot.ara Flat, Ikamatua, Waiuta, Maruia, Cronadun and Inangahua Junction. On Wednesday evening next, Reeftonites interested in gymnastics will have an opportunity of witnessing a display by .a New Zealand champion gymnastic. The visit has been arranged by Mr A. D. Spencei, Physical Welfare Officer for this district, with a view to forming a local club. The display will be held m the Gvmnasium Hall at’ 7.00 and will include tumbling, unarmed combat, horizontal and parallel bar worx. In the afternoon, 'senior boys of the schools will, be given a demonstration.
