VIOLENT DEATHS DROP TO 154!
NEW YORK, May 31.
One hundred and fifty-four persons met a violent death in the three-day Memorial Day week-end, only half the toll of the two-day. holiday la’s! year. The sharp decrease is attributed to war factors,—the ban on pleas-ure-driving in the Eastern States, uninterrupted operation of war plants, and the large number of civilians now in the Armed Forces.
