RUNANGA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) A “Back to Childhood Dance’’ held in the Runanga Gymnasium on Monday evening, under the auspices of the Women s War Service Auxiliary, in order to obtain funds for Miss Russia, was largelv attended. Miss Russia (Miss Nola Gutberleti and her princessess from Taylorville, were present, as also were the Runanga Princesses Mrs. Kennedy introduced the Queen of Russia and stated that Miss Gutberlet wished to be known to the public as Nola. Mrs. Kennedy also announced that, the Cumberland Society were to hold a dance for Miss Russia in the near future. After thanking the musicians —Mesdames Hewison, Isaac, and Warwick and Messrs Armstrong, Speakman, and G. and W. Williamson—Mrs. Kennedy awarded the prizes for the best dresses as follows: Best dressed girls, (who were actually boys): Messrs N. Stella, and. N. McTigue; Best dressed, boy (a girl): Miss Daphne Kennedy. A Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Mr. Joe Soster and Miss Heather Burrows, and a “Lucky Spot.” by -Mr. A. Hinks and partner, Miss J. Maskill. The dance came to a close about so’ as to enable tire visitors to catch the train to Greymouth
