N. AMERICA AND PEACE
BROADCASTS BY MINISTERS NEW YORK, September 20, A realisation of the futility of attempting to ensure the peace of the United States by means of isolation was expressed by Mr C. Hull (Secretary of State) in a National Peace Conference international broadcast. He said: “We must contribute conditions upon which peace everywhere can be maintained, or ultimately must protect and sustain ourselves round a world ridden with war and force. The security of the United States would be seriously jeopardised if international anarchy replaced law.” Mr MacKenzie King (Prime Minister of Canada), contributing a broadcast from Ottawa, said: “The means of creating an enduring peace exists in economic co-operation.”
