BRUNNER NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent], The Brunner Defence Rifle Club held their annual meeting in the Taylorville School last Thursday evening. The balance-sheet was read and adopted as satisfactory. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr T. Morgan; Vice-President, Mr G. Smith; Secretary-Treasurer, Mr C. Buchanan; Auditor, Mr J. Harper and Mr G. Smith; Shooting Committee, J. Harper, G. Smith, T. Morgan, W. Coates and G. Nimmo; Management Committee, J. McFarlane and R. Hacker. It was decided to hold the annual banquet in Dickson’s room, Wallsend, on October 2. The new season will open on October 3. Mrs and Miss Jones, Christchurch, were visitors to Mr and Mrs Gutberlet, Taylorville, during the week-end. Miss B. Rothera, Christchurch, was a visitor to Taylorville by Sunday’s excursion train.
