WANTED BACK IN U.S.A. WASHINGTON, February 22. Senator Edge (New Jersey Republi can) introdu'.ed a joint resolution pro rosing a constitutional amendment per mitting the Slate option system of pro hibition, which was referred to the Ju diciury Committee. The amendmen would permit the States at their discre iom to aulhorise the manufacture am of beer, wines or liquor of greaL aicohobc content. Under certain rustric tions of the Federal Government, liquo would be manufactured only in th:i State for consumption in that State Transportation to other States would l> prohibited. The Federal Governmeni could limit the number of manufactur ing and retail establishments, and tin number of sales to each person. Tin proposal is patterned after the Canauian system. There is no possibility of action concerning it during the present session of Congress.
