TAX REDUCTIONS. (Sun Cable.) DELHI, February 28. The Finance Minister, Mr. Blackett in introducing the Indian budget, san that the surplus for the year totallec 310 lakhs of rupees. The. estimated sur plus for 1927-28 was 364 lakhs. Tin
duties on imported motor cars and tyrewould be reduced fro mtwenty to lit teen per cent. The export duties on hides find tea would be abolished, alsc stamp duty on cheques, and on demand bills. Every effort would be made t‘ keep down the military expenditure
