POWER BOARD AND LINESMEN.
(To the Editor). Sir, —The action of the engineer and certain members of the Grey Electric Power Board in opening old wounds at lust meeting of the Board is one that
can hardly commend, itself to the ratepayers of this district. The Board’s engineer, m pointing out to the members that the men had not kept the agreement signed, merely showed that he was not prepared to bury the hatchet. No doubt this sort of thing looks alright from Mr Lythgoc’s point of view, but I cannot see that it is conducive to a spirit of reconciliation, neither is it in the interest of the ratepayers to have the Board’s engineer and the employees continually at war. As Mr Mulcare stated it is a common thing for companies to break agreements and this has been done on at least two occasions by the Grey Power Board; but I did not hear of anyone (not -even Mr Sneddon) rushing to prosecute the Board. I am etc., A BOARD EMPLOYEE. Greymouth, Feb. 17.
