MORE FROM U.S.A. AUCKLAND, February 18. The (hmard liner, Franconia, ar rivet? from New York to-day with four hundred American tourists. She leaves for Wellington on Monday. A fleet o’ motor ears early this morning whisked the visitors on a tour of the suburbs. Returning to the Franconia, the party hurl lunch, after which 210 of them left tor Rotorua by special train. The re mainder had the afternoon free. Tomorrow will Im* spent in motor drives. On Sunday, the New Zealand main party of 157 will leave at 8 a.m. by perial train for Rotorua. Two special tiains will convey both parties from Ro torua one to Taumarunui, whence 210 will go down the Wanganui River and on to Wellington. The other party will return to Auckland, proceeding with the Franconia to Wellington and Mil ford Sounds. WHO’S WHO. LATER.' The liner Franconia, with four hundred wealthy American tourists, arrived this morning, among the passengers being Lady Pearson (widow of Sir Arthur Pearson), W. 11. Dodge (President of the Allied Newspapers of America), E. J. Barber (of New York, head of the Barber Steamship lines), Bernhard A. Duis (Vice-President of the National Bank of New hm; v tty), Major Gen eral George M. Moulton command ed a regiment in the Spanish-America!’ war), and Dr. Howard C. Warren (Pro fessor of Psychology at Princeton Uni versity). A party of two hundred left by spec pj train this afternoon for Rotorua, and another party will go on Sunday. The vessel leaves for Wellington on Tuesday.
