IMPROVEMENTS AT METEOROLOGICAL OFFICE. WELLINGTON, Feb. 18. Acting on the advice of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Cabinet and public service cominissioni rs have approved of the reorganisation and better equipment of the MeteorI ological Office. In reporting this at a meeting of the Research Council yesterday the Chairman (Mr G. Shirtcliffe) also mentioned an interesting investigation into influence of upper air currents for forecasting, and aviation was in progress at Sockburn aerodrome.
