Taylor Acquitted. OF CAUSING HARM TO FARRELLY ’ NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 16. At the Supreme Court, Stanley Emer son Carlyle Taylor was acquitted, on ?. charge of causing bodily harm to James Earrelly at Tangarakaji, on Novembei 12th. The grand jury had already thrown out two clmrges of attempted murder, and of shooting Farrell'}’. SAWMILL CLERK - IN TROUBLE. Hamilton, February 16. A young man named James Leslie Rayson, employed by the Government at the Frankton Railway Sawmills, was charged to-day with the theft of £2O. It was stated the money had been expended in connection with accused's association with a. girl. Sentence was postponed till Friday. JURY DISAGREE. WANGANUI. Feb. 16. At ’ the Supreme Court, to-day, the Irigl of Frank Hedgman, an ex-con-stable, charged with forgery in his dealings with a man named J. J. Stuart, ended/in the jury’s disagreeing after a retirement of 44 hours. A re-trial foi the Aay sessions of the Supreme Court was ordered. John William Mahoney, a motorist, charged With manslaughter arising from the death of George Sutherland at. Taihape on December 11, was acquitted.
