WEATHER FORECAST.

The barometer has been unsteady in the southernmost d istricts, but rose Steadily last night Jelsewhere. Moderate and variable winds have prevailed with predominance of westerly and northerly. Heavy rain fell in the middle districts ( of the North Island last night, and showers were reported in parts this morning ; but the weather lias improved generally to-day. Present indications arc for increasing-, therly and westerly winds northerly and- westerly winds fair weather in the northernmost ajid East Coast districts, but changeable elsewhere with showers in parts, especially in the far south and west coast of the South Island. A falling barometer is expected in the. south, but little morsment in the northernmost districts.
