A MINERS' BILL.
-*■ 't. (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) CAPETOWN, April 23. The Miners' Phthsis Bill has Been withdrawn. Mr Smuts will instead introduce a short Bill levying £25,000 ,irom mine owners to which will be' added a Government subsidy. It will provide for provisional compensation "and will give the Government power to conricfentiaHy medically examine miners to ascertain the liability under a permanent bill to be introduced in 1912. Labour members are vehemently protesting against the Bill.
