SUSPECTS MURDER

: : -*9* (By Telegraph— -Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 19.A native named Tahi Kaka was arrested at Kairohe, .last night, on .suspicion of having murdered a gumdigger named John Freeman. It appears that Freeman has been missing from his whare at Pukihopipi, near Whangarei, since April sth, and i at the time of his disappearance was in possession of a considerable sum of money. Large search parties lijwe boen searching the country, but no trac : of the missing man has-- hi en discovered. The accused man is to be taken to Whangarei, where he *-ill he charged and a remand will be applied for, to allow further investigations.' Kaka was the last man seen in Free- ' man's company, and since then has been spending money freely.
