The opening- day's racing- in connection with the Auckland RacingClub's meeting- took place this afternoon. . The weather was dull ana several heavy showers fell fete in the afternoon. The results are : —
Tradesmen's Handicap, one mile and a quarter— Woodhey (7.10) 1, Monoplane 2, Uranium (7.9 3. Also starteed— Paisano 7.11, Delegate 7.9, Coromandel 6.13, Master Theory] Hig-hden 6.10, Caruso. Won by three lengths.
Brighton Hurdle Race, two miles — Bully (9.4) 1, Hoang-a (9.12)- 2, Maidi (10.5} 3. Also started— Seldom 9.4, Master William 9.1. Won toy two lengths.
Gore Brown Handicap, six furlomg-s —Lucille (8.5) 1, Kanewara (9.0), Parawai. (7.11) 3. Also started— Hardrock 8.6, Mary Ann 8.0, Castle Blaney 7.12, Wee Olga 7.11, Harenoa 7.8, Tipua 7.7, Monoplane 6.12, Gloy 6.12, Tetekura 6.12, Won by a head.
