A requisition is being .signed asking Mr.. H: L. Miched (the present Mayor) to reconsider his decision- not to allow himself to be nominated for the Mayoralty. The petition already contains several hundred signatures. One of the g-entlemen who have the matter in hand states that if necessary, one thousand names can be obtained for the requisition. It is understood that Mr Michel will be absent from Hokitika during the latter end of the present year and he consequently thinks that he should be relieved of office. The document is to be presented to Mr Michel during the present week. Many will hope that the present Mayor -will accede to the almost unanimous wish of the ratepayers. — W. C Times.
