J THE QUEEN'S ORDERS FOR LAUE FROM NOTTINGHAM. : A gratifying announcement significant of the practical interest which the Queen has always taken in home industries, was made at a recent meeting- of the Nottingham Chamber of Commerce Recently the chamber, through Lord Henry Cavendish-Bentinck, who represents the southern division of the city in Parliament, submitted samples of lace for her Majesty's inspection, and after the placing of an order for a supply of lace the following letter has been received , from the Queen's private secretary:— "The specimens of lace goods which thfe Queen desired to be sent from . Nottingham- ' have v been received, and heir Majesty has made a seLection of those she prefers * "The Queen is greatly pleased with the work and considers the designs very pretty.. I ,am further commanded to say that her Majesty wishes every prosperity to the lace trade in Nottingham." Messrs R. Atkinson and Co., Col-lege-green Dublin, have received from the Queen "an order for Irish lace including- a Court , train of Carrickmacross. .
