The Appeal Court to-day heard a motion for a rule absolute to strike John Francis Pullen, of Auckland, • off the roll of solicitors for alleged professional misconduct. It was alleged that Pullen wrote a letter to another solicitor containing a threat that criminal proceedings would be instituted by Pullen' s client unless a certain sum of money, to wit, £704, was refunded. The other solicitor, iMahoney, refused, and criminal proceedings were instituted, ending in Mahoney's complete vindication without the defence being called on Mr Cotter is appearing for the Auckland (Law Society and Mr Earle for Pullen. WELLINGTON, April 12. The Appeal Court, after hearing the agreement in the case in which a motion was moved to strike J. F. Pullen, of Auckland, off the roll of barristers, reserved its decision.
