The Times says that Britain had four ships afloat and iwo will shortly be launched all of which carry thirteen and a half inch guns. No other lower has any vessel so far advanced, which will mount heavier than a twelve inch gun. * Possibly Krupp's fourteen inch, is v iortress gu : n. " It tound expedient Britain already has a >fourteen incfr tested, >wh"ich could -Be utilised '" aboard warships, while it is equally possible that _ a further advance may ultimately be made to fifteen inch. There is no indication of a. stop. It is likely and at least equally probable that the pen dulum may- swing the -other way. .
