WEATHER FORECAST
A westerly storm area has passed in the south, with westerly and southerly .gales in and southward of Cook Strait during 1 the night, but winds have moderated to-day. . Rain has fallen in parts, especially on the West Coast. High pressure has continued in the north, 'and heavy seas have been experienced in. the West CoasJ. Present indications are for variable winds (generally, ■vyith northerlies and westerlies increasing shortly southward of $Tew (Plymouth and Napier. Hazy and cloudy weather, will probably prevail, showery in parts, especially on the Coast and southern districts of the South Island. The barometer will probably fali shortly in the north and steady in the south.
