ASHBURTON, April 7
The case in which Thos. Mathewson, a jyiethven farmer, was charged with! having failed*.' to. provide sufficient and adequate accommodation tor employees on his farm j was continued this morningt at the Magistrate's Court, before Mr Day, S.M.
W., ftl'. (H'ogrger, {Inspector of Awards, stated that he conferred with defendant with regard to new buildings, and recommended the erection of a .building 40ft by 16|t, divided into two compartments, one to: ' a diningv room and one . as . a sleeping room, each 20ft by 15ft, the building to be of wood with iron roof substantially • erected, witi£ windows in each room, and the building' to be lined with tongue and .firopyeji timber. Proper sanitary conveniences and a 40 gallon tank for water supply should also be provided.
The magistrate made an order accordingly, and allowed three months for the building to be erected.
