London, Dec. 18. The wool sales closed firm, but with an advance; 104,840 bales were catalogued.

30,000 of which were taken for exportation. The imports are 50,000 bales in excess of last year. The next series of sales will commence on the 15th February. Wheat is lower ; Adelaide is quoted at 53s to 543 j New Zealand, 50s to 52s per quarter. Copper is firmer ; Burra, LBB toLB9; Wallaroo, L9O. Tin is quiet j Australian rules at LBl. Hides and leather continue depressed.
