THE Grey River Argus. PUBLISHED DAILY. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 1874.
His Honor the Superintendent returned a few days ago from Wellington and resumed his official duties. We are informed by the " Times" that since then the Provincial Executive have been busy in considering many matters of serious moment to the Province. Among them may be stated the special settlement proposal of Mr Yogel, for which .£12,000 is set apart ; the question of immigration as applied to Westland, and last, though not least, the introduction and working of the new Westland Education Ordinance. In a very short time these deliberations will bear fruit, though we have reason to believe that the session ef the Provincial Council that was said to be imminent, on account of some matters pending, will not be held till the usual time next year. We are, however, glad to say that the return of the Superintendent has infused fresh vigor into the Executive, and that the public business held over is now being resolutely grappled with.
