Auckland, Nov. 14. The "Evening Star" boat went off to the Phoebe from Manukau Heads, and brought the following summary to the telegraph station :—
The New South Wales Government have carried the new tariff, slightly amended.
The Government intend to appoint the Chief Justice next week.
The Auckland riflemen left for Melbourne yesterday.
Governor Robinson has been well received in Victoria.
Don Juan won the Melbourne Cup. Dagwcrth was second.
Lapidist won the Derby.
The barque Anna, for Auckland, has been wrecked on King's Island.
The Victorian Assembly have passed the Appropriation Bill, and prorogue next week.
There waa no'steamer for New Zealand from the 30bh nit, to Thursday. ; The Tasmanian Parliament ia prorogued. r
